INTASC #9:Professional Learning and Ethical Practice

The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices  and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner.

INTASC Standard #9 Interpretation:

to meet this standard a teacher must understand that learning is an ongoing process that never really ends. A teacher must know how to progress and change in order to meet the needs of learners, families, other professionals, and the community.

Artifacts:

philosophy of education

Reflection on the Standard:

I chose to include my philosophy of education as the artifact for  INTASC #9 because I believe it fit this standard  best. In the writings I state that “my job as an educator is to continue to learn from each of my students every day, and changing my philosophy of education as I gain more experience,” writing this allowed me to think critically about how I will find a way to meet every students needs, and highlighted  the importance of self evaluation as a teacher.
